Licensing
Licensing & usage
Photo and video licensing is set per project. This page describes how Views Creative normally handles rights; the exact licence for your files is written on your quote and that wording governs.

Copyright
Under the Copyright Act, the photographer or videographer owns the copyright in the images and footage they create unless a written agreement transfers it. Views Creative retains copyright in delivered work by default, and grants you a usage licence to use the files for the purposes set out on the quote.
What the usage licence usually covers
A standard commercial licence covers the client's own use of the delivered files: website and listing pages, social channels, email, proposals, print collateral and internal use, for the term stated on the quote.
Uses that are quoted separately include resale or sublicensing to another business, use by a third party such as a builder or brand partner, stock library distribution, and paid advertising placements where that is priced into the licence.
Editing and integrity
Crops and resizing for a platform are fine. Please do not apply filters, heavy recolouring, added text over the subject or AI alterations to delivered files, since the edit is part of the work we are credited for.
Credit
Credit is appreciated but not required for client use. Where a third party such as a publication or partner brand uses the files, please credit Views Creative.
RAW files and archives
Delivered files are the edited selects. Unedited RAW files and unused footage are working material and are not part of a standard delivery; if you need them, ask and we will quote it.
We keep project files as a courtesy backup, not as an archive service. Please download and store your own copy of every delivery when you receive it.
